Alessandro is an electrical engineer with a specialization in Telecommunications from the University of Ottawa. Alessandro has also received an LL.B. from the University of La Trobe in Melbourne, Australia and is an accredited legal practitioner in Ontario since his call to the bar in June 2012.

Over the course of his education in applied sciences, Alessandro gained expertize in various electrical engineering fields such as optical communications and networking, digital signal processing, wave propagation and antennas, as well as communications systems, including filters, channel coding and capacity, noise detection in signals, and various modulation techniques.

At Clancy Brion Raffoul, Alessandro’s practice is largely focused on patent and industrial design drafting and prosecution, as well as drafting Freedom to Operate, Validity and Infringement opinions. Alessandro is also experienced in trademark prosecution, oppositions and enforcement and regularly advises his clients on domain name disputes and online counterfeiting. Alessandro’s practice also delves into general corporate law matters, including purchase and sale agreements, incorporations, shareholder agreements and corporate reorganizations and restructurings.

Alessandro is also an adjudicator for Resolutions Canada inc. and regularly hears domain name disputes regarding .ca domain name registrations. His decisions can be found online.

In his spare time, Alessandro is an avid traveller, a self-professed wine collector and connoisseur, and dedicated member of the Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association (OCUA) as a player and team captain. As a golf enthusiast, Alessandro will make himself available as often as possible for local and charity golf tournaments.

Alessandro is fluently trilingual and is proud to serve his clients in English, French or Italian.
