Canadian Wares and Services Manual Updated

On May 5, 2011, in News, by Paula Clancy

Pursuant to a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Trade-mark Offices of Canada, the U.S. and Japan, CIPO has today released an updated Wares and Services Manual that  includes more than 12,000 new descriptions of wares and services which are now deemed to be acceptable.    These changes will hopefully reduce the number of Section 30(a) objections raised by the Trade-marks Office during prosecution, and will provide greater clarity and guidance to applicants.  To search for wares and services in the updated manual, press here.
